UK Recovery Federation presents: The UK Recovery Walk 2010

We are asking you to support us in this dramatic display of support for recovery. Over the last few years, here in the UK, recovered people have taken significant strides in ‘putting a face on recovery’. We are the faces of your neighbours, business leaders, school teachers, clergy, police officers and others representative of your community. We believe that by being public about our recovery and having the courage to proclaim that ‘recovery is a reality’ in our lives, we can help shape public policy and begin to reduce stigma.

We have made arrangements to meet on Saturday, September 25th, 2010 at 3pm in Glasgow, where we hope thousands of individuals will offer themselves as living proof that recovery is real. After the walk there will be a celebratory event comprising special guests, music, dancing, comedy and general all round fun.

UK Recovery Federation has asked Wired In To Recovery to host a range of activites related to the Walk. This will include publicising progress towards the big day, dealing with sponsorship and donations and providing information.

In order to make the Recovery Walk 2010 the major event that we believe it should be, we will be offering sponsorship opportunities. These are detailed below. We recognise that some of you may wish to make small donations and this can be done by clicking on the PayPal icon at the bottom of the page. To ensure transparency, all donations will be listed on the website each month. If you would like to donate anonymously, and do not wish to have your name published, please contact .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
