Why did 2009 have to end?

It’s a bit funny really, I didn’t want 2009 to end. It’s the only year I haven’t been glad to see the back of like all the other years in the past.

2009 will always be remembered as a mile-stone in my life as it’s where my life began. I hope many people with addiction problems can feel the same way about 2010.

If anyone who is reading this who is at the beginning of their recovery – stick with it – because I promise you life in recovery is a million times better than in addiction.

I’m not going to lie and says it’s easy, because we all know its the hardest thing to do at times, but my life today is a hell of a lot easier than when I was active in my adddiction. It comes day by day and you get stronger.

You will know when it’s your time and the support is out there. Now use these people who work for services. They are paid to support and help you in all your affairs to do with your addiction.

I don’t want to sound like a know-it-all or a drugs counsellor, because I know very little, but what I do know is if I can do it, and stay clean of all drugs and alchol for 90 days now, anyone can.

All the best for 2010 to everyone

Bet that 90 days ago you didn’t think you’d be the first Wired In blogger of 2010 either.

Hi Mark,
It’s really good to hear you starting the new year on a positive note, and I like your conviction of promising that life is better in recovery, keep up the good work and stay true to yourself.
Take care,
Tony.
